Biography

Pranita Nair Pandurangi is a singer-songwriter, music producer, writer and educator.

She is the first recipient of A Humming Hearts Artist Fund for independent artists.

She has extensively trained in Hindustani classical vocal music and folk music of India and has performed at various venues across India like Prithvi Theatre and NCPA (Mumbai), Kamani Auditorium (Delhi) and Bharat Bhavan (Bhopal). Pranita writes in Hindi and Urdu and composes her own poetry, as well as works with the poetry of ancient and medieval writers. Her music has a very emotional quality to it and seamlessly blends a nostalgic Indian sound with a modern twist in a unique way.

Rang is her debut folk fusion album released in 2019. Namee is her original Urdu pop single released in 2020.

Beiraada Nazar – a ghazal produced with modern electronic beats is her latest release of January 2021. Pranita’s work has been featured in prominent magazines like Rolling Stone India, HomeGrown, A Humming Heart as well as newspapers like Mid-day and Hindustan Times.
